Creating your perfect blue colour palette

There are two approaches to creating a kitchen colour palette: complementary colours and analogous colours. Use the colour wheel to help identify which colours you wish to include in your kitchen design. This free tool is great for colour scheme inspiration, take 5 minutes and see what you come up with.

Complementary colours sit opposite each other on the wheel and are perfect as a colour scheme for wall and base units against a feature island. Complementary colours for light blue yellow and shades of pink. Dark blue looks great with bold colours such as red, white, pale pink and yellow.

Analogous colours are groups of three colours that are next to each other on the colour wheel, such as blue, blue-green, and green, your blue-green mix should be an even mix of the two for a balanced look. They usually match well and create comfortable design.
