Extended kitchen leads to kitchen makeover for local Berkshire couple

Situation

With a kitchen extension planned, the Searles were in the market for a new kitchen.

Via a recommendation, they contacted Thatcham Kitchens because they were looking for a trusted company that would deliver on quality of products, service and finish.

Requirements

So, the couple booked an appointment to visit the Thatcham Kitchens showroom and fell in love with the main shaker kitchen display with a large kitchen island.  Luckily, their new kitchen extension provided the space needed to set-off such a feature.

In terms of kitchen appliances, the Searles didn’t have any preconceived ideas of what they would need or want, but very much welcomed the opportunity to attend a forthcoming demonstration day at the showroom.  Home economist, Jo, cooked up delights and showed guests the functionality of various Bosch ovens and hobs – answering questions along the way, she provided a real feel for which appliances would best suit their lifestyle.

Solution

After that, the Searles selected a shaker style kitchen from Mereway Kitchens Town and Country collection.

A subtle two-tone, modern colour scheme comprising Denim Blue and Cashmere, delivered a light, spacious and appealing contemporary feel.

Silestone was chosen for all work surfaces with the large kitchen island using a combination of Silestone and a real oak worktop by Spekva.  Using depth treating, the construction of this oak worktop means you can enjoy real oak without the monthly re-oiling maintenance (treatment required 2-3 times a year).  In addition, the Scandinavian brand also provides added protection against warping, ensuring the longevity of your wooden worktop.

Delighted with their new kitchen design, the Searles also asked Thatcham Kitchens to help them complete their fitted bedroom and recommended them to their neighbours, who are now also a customer of Thatcham Kitchens.
